What you find on the Rattlesnake Speedway

I have always wanted to be a writer. This blog represents a creative outlet to express my thoughts on life, work, sports, music, parenthood, and things I find interesting. So, why the title?

A Rattlesnake Speedway in the Utah desert is the setting for Bruce Springsteen’s The Promised Land. It is a song, to paraphrase Bruce’s words from his documentary The Promise: The Darkness on the Edge of Town Story, about the need to lose one's illusions of a life without limitations while holding onto a sense of the possibilities in life.

Springsteen’s words inspire me in this space. While this writing is therapy for me, it is my hope what I express in this space might benefit a reader as well.

“Mister, I ain’t a boy. No. I’m a man and I believe in the Promised Land.”
